One of the main stays of my Word Study Centre is word sorts. On Mondays students are given their new lists. They cut up the words and store them in a ziplock bag that is stapled to their Centre Folders. This activity is easily differentiated by providing lists for students based on performance on a spelling assessment. They use these words for the week doing a different task each day. On the last day the students paste their word sorts into their Word Study notebooks. This file contains the task cards, word sort lists. and a blending game for your Word Study Centre.
